Summary

A multi-year partnership with the Welfare and Rehabilitation Directorate helping retiring officers move into civilian careers, and building pathways for their families, including the families of Shuhada.

Challenge

Officers retire with decades of discipline, leadership and operational expertise, but the transition brings real barriers: experience that civilian employers struggle to read, little exposure to modern workplace tools and hiring practices, and no clear post-retirement career strategy. Families of retired officers and Shuhada face their own obstacles to skills and employment.

Intervention

A five-day, 25-hour program covering CV development, interview preparation, workplace communication and civilian mindset, paired with tailored one-on-one coaching and career matching. Alongside it, a wider suite for the community: a digital productivity bootcamp, a veteran entrepreneurship fellowship, professional excellence training for army-owned institutions, and a Career Launchpad for the families of officers, in particular Shuhada families.

Audience

Retiring and retired officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces, and their families

Delivery

Five-day in-person program in Islamabad, delivered remotely to Lahore, Karachi and other major cities, combining lectures, simulations, role-play, real-time coaching and one-on-one mentorship with hiring managers from FMCG, banking, telecom, manufacturing and development sectors.

Outcome

Thousands of officers have transitioned with clearer career direction, stronger interview confidence and placements in leading firms including PepsiCo, Packages, Fauji Group, BAF and ACBL. Every cohort is evaluated pre- and post-program with individual development plans.
